The University of Toronto operates across multiple campuses (St. George, Mississauga (UTM), and Scarborough (UTSC)), and while the overarching academic structure is similar, specific sessional dates can vary slightly by faculty or campus.

The University of Toronto’s primary academic year (Fall/Winter session) generally comprises 24 weeks of instruction, delivered across two distinct 12-week semesters or terms: Fall (September to December) and Winter (January to April).

Additionally, the university offers a flexible Summer session, which typically includes two shorter terms for accelerated study.

UofT academic calendar Winter 2026

Manage UofT important dates for the Winter 2026 term: S-course deadlines, reading week 2026, final exams, and critical withdrawal dates.

1. Classes in Winter (S) courses begin on Monday, January 5, 2026.
2. Classes in Fall–Winter (Y) courses resume on Monday, January 5, 2026.
3. Waitlists for Winter (S) courses close at the end of the day on Wednesday, January 14, 2026.
4. The last day to enrol in Winter (S) courses is Sunday, January 18, 2026.
5. The program and course fee freeze date for Winter (S) courses is Sunday, January 18, 2026, and any Winter (S) courses cancelled after this date will still be counted for accurate tuition fee assessment.
6. The first day to select a Credit/No Credit (CR/NCR) option for Winter (S) courses is Monday, January 19, 2026.
7. The deadline to pay fees for special deferred exams scheduled during Winter Reading Week is Monday, January 19, 2026.
8. The last day to request Spring 2026 graduation is Saturday, January 31, 2026.
9. The last day to drop Fall–Winter (Y) courses is Monday, February 16, 2026, and some courses cannot be dropped using ACORN, requiring students to contact their college or department.
10. Family Day is observed on Monday, February 16, 2026, and the University will be closed with no classes held.
11. The deadline to pay fees for regular deferred exams scheduled during the April 2026 final exam period is Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
12. UOFT Winter Reading Week 2026 runs from Tuesday, February 17, 2026, to Friday, February 20, 2026, and no classes will be held during this period.
13. The special deferred exam period for eligible students runs from Tuesday, February 17, 2026, to Friday, February 20, 2026, for students who have paid the required fee by the published deadline.
14. The last day to drop Winter (S) courses is Monday, March 16, 2026, and some courses require students to contact their college or department to complete the drop process.
15. The deadline to report a conflict for the April 2026 final exam period is Thursday, March 19, 2026.
16. The last day for most regularly scheduled classes in Winter (S) and Fall–Winter (Y) courses is Thursday, April 2, 2026.
17. Good Friday falls on Friday, April 3, 2026, and the University will be closed with no classes or final exams held.
18. The official last day of classes is Monday, April 6, 2026, and at the instructor’s discretion, Friday classes may be held on this date to make up for the class missed on Good Friday.
19. The last day to add or remove a Credit/No Credit (CR/NCR) option in Winter (S) and Fall–Winter (Y) courses is Monday, April 6, 2026.
20. The deadline to request a Late Withdrawal (LWD) from Winter (S) and Fall–Winter (Y) courses is Monday, April 6, 2026.
21. Study days are from Tuesday, April 7, 2026, to Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
22. The final exam period for Winter (S) and Fall–Winter (Y) courses runs from Thursday, April 9, 2026, to Wednesday, April 29, 2026, and includes regular deferred exams for students who pay the required fee by the published payment deadline.
23. The last day to submit a term work extension petition in Winter (S) and Fall–Winter (Y) courses is Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
24. The last day for instructors to accept late-term work for S or Y courses, including final assessments, is Wednesday, May 6, 2026, and any extensions beyond this date require a formal term work extension petition.

UofT academic calendar Summer 2026

1. Summer course enrolment start times become available on ACORN for all Faculty of Arts & Science students on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
2. The first day of Summer 2026 course enrolment for all Faculty of Arts & Science students is Monday, March 2, 2026.
3. The course enrolment priority period for Faculty of Arts & Science students runs from Monday, March 2, 2026, to Sunday, March 8, 2026.
4. The general enrolment period for Faculty of Arts & Science students begins on Monday, March 9, 2026.
5. The first day of course enrolment for St. George campus (downtown) students who are not enrolled in the Faculty of Arts & Science is Monday, April 6, 2026.
6. The first day of course enrolment in Arts & Science courses for UTM and UTSC students is Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
7. The tuition fee payment or deferral deadline for the 2026 Summer session is Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
8. The deadline to apply to limited programs during the first request period is Friday, April 24, 2026.
9. Results for the first request period to enrol in limited programs begin to be posted on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
10. The deferred exam period for students who missed a final exam in December 2025 or February 2026 runs from Friday, May 1, 2026, to Thursday, May 7, 2026, including scheduled re-deferrals from previous exam periods.
11. Classes in F and Y courses begin on Monday, May 4, 2026.
12. Waitlists for F and Y courses close at the end of the day on Thursday, May 7, 2026.
13. The last day to enrol in F courses is Sunday, May 10, 2026.
14. The first day to select a Credit/No-Credit (CR/NCR) option for F and Y courses is to be determined (TBD).
15. Presidential Day is observed on Friday, May 15, 2026, and the University will be closed with no classes.
16. The first decision iteration for Collaborative Life Science programs runs from Friday, May 15, 2026, to Thursday, May 28, 2026, for checking results and accepting invitations.
17. The last day to enrol in Y courses is Sunday, May 17, 2026.
18. Victoria Day is observed on Monday, May 18, 2026, and the University will be closed with no classes.
19. The last day to drop F courses is Monday, June 1, 2026, and some courses require students to contact their college or department to complete the drop process.
20. The second decision iteration for Collaborative Life Science programs runs from Wednesday, June 3, 2026, to Monday, June 15, 2026, for checking results and accepting invitations.
21. The deadline to check ACORN for results of the first request period to enrol in limited programs is Friday, June 5, 2026.
22. The last day to add or remove a CR/NCR option in F courses is to be determined (TBD).
23. The deadline to request Late Withdrawal (LWD) from F courses at the College Registrar’s Office is to be determined (TBD).
24. Classes in F and Y courses end on Monday, June 15, 2026.
25. At the instructor’s discretion, classes scheduled on Fridays may hold their last class on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, to make up for the Presidential holiday on May 15, 2026.
26. The study day is Wednesday, June 17, 2026.
27. Final exams in F courses and term tests in Y courses run from Thursday, June 18, 2026, to Wednesday, June 24, 2026.
28. The third decision iteration for Collaborative Life Science programs runs from Friday, June 19, 2026, to Friday, July 3, 2026, for checking results and accepting invitations.
29. The first day to request Fall 2026 graduation is to be determined (TBD).
30. Presidential Day is observed from Monday, June 29, 2026, to Tuesday, June 30, 2026, and the University will be closed with no classes.
31. Canada Day is observed on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, and the University will be closed with no classes.
32. Classes in S courses begin and classes in Y courses resume on Thursday, July 2, 2026.
33. The last day for instructors to accept late term work in F courses without a petition is to be determined (TBD).

42. Civic Holiday is observed on Monday, August 3, 2026, and the University will be closed with no classes.
43. Classes in S and Y courses end on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
44. The deadline to request Late Withdrawal (LWD) from S and Y courses at the College Registrar’s Office is to be determined (TBD).
45. The last day to add or remove a CR/NCR option in S and Y courses is to be determined (TBD).
46. At the instructor’s discretion, classes scheduled on Mondays may hold their last class on Thursday, August 13, 2026, to make up for the Civic Holiday.
47. The study day is Friday, August 14, 2026.
48. Final exams in S and Y courses, including regular deferred exams, run from Saturday, August 15, 2026, to Saturday, August 22, 2026.
49. The deadline to apply to limited programs during the second request period is Tuesday, August 18, 2026.
50. Results for the second request period to enrol in limited programs begin to be posted on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
51. The special deferred exam period for students who missed a final exam in April 2026 runs from Tuesday, August 25, 2026, to Saturday, August 29, 2026, including scheduled re-deferrals from previous exam periods.
52. The last day for instructors to accept late term work in S and Y courses without a petition is to be determined (TBD).
