UNT Academic Calendar 2025-2026: Important Dates

The UNT Academic Calendar 2025–2026 is your source for all University of North Texas semester dates, term schedules, registration deadlines, census and withdrawal cutoffs, reading and spring break dates, and final-exam weeks.

Each major term, Fall and Spring, follows a standard full-semester timeline, with accompanying shorter sessions (like 8-week terms and Winter Session) detailed separately.

Fall 2025 runs August 18 to December 12, with Fall Break scheduled during Thanksgiving week (November 24–30).

Spring 2026 spans January 12 to May 8, preceded by a brief Winter Session in mid-December to early January and featuring Spring Break and Commencement in May.

UNT Academic Calendar Fall 2025

The following are the important dates and deadlines for the UNT Fall Semester of 2025, as outlined in the UNT Academic Calendar 2025-2026.

1. The Schedule of Classes will be available on Monday, March 3, 2025.
2. Registration will open on Monday, March 17, 2025.
3. Students not meeting course prerequisites may be dropped from their courses on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 (Full Term & 8 Week I) and on Monday, October 13, 2025 (8 Week II).
4. Regular registration will end on Thursday, August 14, 2025 (Full Term & 8 Week I) and on Thursday, October 9, 2025 (8 Week II).
5. Late registration, with a $75 late fee, will run from Friday, August 15, 2025, to Friday, August 22, 2025 (Full Term & 8 Week I), and from Friday, October 10, 2025, to Friday, October 17, 2025 (8 Week II).
6. The last day to withdraw from the entire term via myUNT is Sunday, August 17, 2025 (Full Term & 8 Week I), and Sunday, October 12, 2025 (8 Week II only).
7. UNT Fall 2025 classes will begin on Monday, August 18, 2025 (Full Term & 8 Week I), and on Monday, October 13, 2025 (8 Week II). It is the first day of classes.
8. The last day to add a class or swap sections is Friday, August 22, 2025 (Full Term & 8 Week I), and Friday, October 17, 2025 (8 Week II).
9. The last day to drop a class section without a W (Census) is Friday, August 29, 2025 (Full Term), Saturday, August 23, 2025 (8 Week I), and Saturday, October 18, 2025 (8 Week II).
10. Dropping with a grade of W will begin on Saturday, August 30, 2025 (Full Term), Sunday, August 24, 2025 (8 Week I), and Sunday, October 19, 2025 (8 Week II).
11. Labor Day (university closed, no classes) will be observed on Monday, September 1, 2025.
12. The last day to change to the pass/no pass grade option (undergraduates) is Friday, September 26, 2025 (Full Term), Friday, September 5, 2025 (8 Week I), and Friday, October 31, 2025 (8 Week II).
13. The midpoint of the semester is Friday, October 10, 2025 (Full Term), Friday, September 12, 2025 (8 Week I), and Friday, November 7, 2025 (8 Week II).
14. The last day for a student to drop a course or all courses with a grade of W is Friday, November 7, 2025 (Full Term), Friday, September 26, 2025 (8 Week I), and Friday, November 21, 2025 (8 Week II).
15. The first day to request a grade of Incomplete is Saturday, November 8, 2025 (Full Term), Saturday, September 27, 2025 (8 Week I), and Saturday, November 22, 2025 (8 Week II).
16. UNT Thanksgiving Break 2025 (no classes) will be from Monday, November 24, 2025, to Sunday, November 30, 2025.
17. Pre-Finals Days will take place on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, and Thursday, December 4, 2025 (Full Term only).
18. The last regular class meeting will be on Thursday, December 4, 2025 (Full Term), Thursday, October 9, 2025 (8 Week I), and Thursday, December 11, 2025 (8 Week II).
19. Reading Day (no classes) will be on Friday, December 5, 2025 (Full Term only).
20. Final Exams will take place from Saturday, December 6, 2025, to Friday, December 12, 2025 (Full Term), on Friday, October 10, 2025 (8 Week I), and on Friday, December 12, 2025 (8 Week II).
21. The last day of the session is Friday, December 12, 2025 (all sessions).
22. UNT Commencement will be held from Friday, December 12, 2025, to Sunday, December 14, 2025.
23. University Grade Submission Deadline is Monday, December 15, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. (Full Term & 8 Week II), and Monday, October 13, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. (8 Week I).
24. Grades and academic standing will be posted on official transcripts on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 (all sessions).
