UF Academic Calendar 2026-2027: Important Dates

The University of Florida operates on a semester system, not a quarter system. The academic year is divided into three terms: Fall, Spring, and Summer. Fall and Spring semesters each run approximately 15 weeks.

The Summer term is divided into distinct sessions — Summer A, Summer B, and Summer C — each with its own registration window, Drop/Add period, and final exam schedule.

Summer A is the shorter session. Summer C runs the full length. Which session a student enrolls in determines the length of their first term at UF.

Students participating in university-sponsored activities — athletic competitions, academic conferences, or performances — should be aware of UF’s 12-day rule, which permits absences for up to 12 scholastic days per semester for authorized university activities without academic penalty.
