SDSU Academic Calendar Fall 2025

1. The Fall 2025 class schedule becomes available on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.
2. Student registration appointments for Fall 2025 become available in my.SDSU on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, and students may begin adding courses to their shopping carts.
3. The Aztec Scholarships application opens to students for the 2025–2026 academic year on Monday, March 10, 2025.
4. The California state aid priority filing deadline is Wednesday, April 2, 2025; students must submit their 2025–2026 FAFSA or California Dream Act Application (CADAA) by this date.
5. The final day for continuing students to meet the Current Student Early Action Deadline in Aztec Scholarships is Friday, April 4, 2025, by 11:59 p.m.
6. Registration for Fall 2025 begins on Monday, April 14, 2025, and students must review the my.SDSU Financial Account tile for their payment deadline.
7. Applications for Fall 2025 graduation with a bachelor’s or advanced degree open on Monday, April 14, 2025.
8. Beginning in June 2025, continuing students who submitted a 2025–2026 FAFSA or CADAA with no pending documents can view their Fall 2025–Spring 2026 financial aid eligibility in my.SDSU.
9. New Student Orientation for first-year students and their families takes place during July 2025 (specific dates require registration).
10. New Student Orientation for transfer students and their families is held during August 2025 (registration is required).
11. The final day for incoming students to meet the Early Action Deadline in Aztec Scholarships for August award decisions is Friday, August 1, 2025, by 11:59 p.m.
12. The final day for departments to report results of comprehensive examinations to the College of Graduate Studies is Friday, August 8, 2025.
13. New Graduate Student Orientation is scheduled for Saturday, August 16, 2025.
14. On Tuesday, August 19, 2025, the maximum number of undergraduate registration units increases from 18 units to 21 units; students requesting more than 21 units must receive academic advisor approval.
15. The tuition and fee payment deadline, including non-resident tuition and/or professional program fees, is Wednesday, August 20, 2025; students may be disenrolled from courses if payment is not received.

21. Classes for Fall 2025 begin on Monday, August 25, 2025. It is the first day of classes for SDSU Students.
22. A late registration fee of $50 is applied to students who begin enrolling in courses on or after Monday, August 25, 2025.
23. Labor Day is observed on Monday, September 1, 2025; the campus is closed.
24. The deadline for submitting Course Repeat Petitions is Monday, September 1, 2025.
25. Waitlists close on Monday, September 1, 2025; students will no longer be auto-enrolled after this date.
26. From Tuesday, September 2, 2025, through Monday, September 8, 2025, students may enroll in classes only with a permission number.
27. The administrative drop deadline for non-attendance or missing prerequisites is Thursday, September 4, 2025.
28. The final deadline to apply for Aztec Scholarships for the 2025–2026 academic year is Friday, September 5, 2025, by 11:59 p.m.
29. Monday, September 8, 2025, is the last day to add or drop classes, change grading basis, officially withdraw from the university without penalty, opt out of Immediate Access or Day1Ready, apply for Fall 2025 graduation, or petition for concurrent graduate credit.
30. The final day to enroll in the Tuition Installment Payment Plan is Tuesday, September 9, 2025.
31. The tuition installment plan payment is due on Saturday, September 20, 2025.
32. Census day is observed on Monday, September 22, 2025.
33. The final day to submit a Petition for Late Schedule Adjustment for a withdrawal without a “W” on the transcript is Tuesday, September 23, 2025.
34. Applications for Fall 2026 admission or readmission open on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Undergraduate applications close on Sunday, November 30, 2025.
35. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2026–2027 academic year becomes available on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
36. The California Dream Act Application (CADAA) for the 2026–2027 academic year opens on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
37. Indigenous Peoples’ Day is observed on Thursday, October 9, 2025.
38. The tuition installment plan payment is due on Monday, October 20, 2025.
39. The final day to withdraw from all Fall 2025 classes and receive a prorated refund is Saturday, November 1, 2025; special approval is required after September 8, and a penalty fee applies.
40. Veterans Day is observed on Tuesday, November 11, 2025; the campus is closed.
41. The tuition installment plan payment is due on Thursday, November 20, 2025.
42. There are no classes held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, although the campus remains open.
43. SDSU Thanksgiving Break 2025 is observed from Wednesday, November 26, 2025, to Friday, November 28, 2025; the campus is closed, but remains open on Wednesday, November 26.
44. The final day of instruction for the Fall 2025 semester is Thursday, December 11, 2025.
45. The final day to report results of comprehensive examinations or submit a Petition for Late Schedule Adjustment is Thursday, December 11, 2025.
46. Final examinations are held from Friday, December 12, 2025, through Thursday, December 18, 2025.
47. The final deadline to complete thesis review and publishing for Fall 2025 graduation is Friday, December 12, 2025, by 3:45 p.m.
48. Winter recess is observed from Tuesday, December 23, 2025, through Friday, December 26, 2025; the campus is closed.
49. Final grades are due from instructors on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, by 11:00 p.m.
50. The Fall 2025 semester officially ends on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
51. The final day for submission of incomplete or RP grade removals (excluding thesis) for December 2025 graduation with an advanced degree is Wednesday, December 31, 2025.

SDSU Academic Calendar Spring 2026

1. New Year’s Day is observed on Thursday, January 1, 2026; the campus is closed for a faculty and staff holiday.
2. The Spring 2026 semester begins on Thursday, January 15, 2026.
3. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is observed on Monday, January 19, 2026; the campus is closed for a faculty and staff holiday.
4. The first day of classes for the Spring 2026 semester is Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
5. No classes will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, due to the NCAA Tournament; however, the campus will remain open.
6. SDSU Spring Break 2026 takes place from Monday, March 30, 2026, through Friday, April 3, 2026.
7. Cesar Chavez Day is observed on Tuesday, March 31, 2026; the campus is closed for a faculty and staff holiday.
8. The last day of classes before final examinations is Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
9. Final examinations are scheduled from Thursday, May 7, 2026, through Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
10. Graduate Student Commencement for the San Diego campus and Commencement for the Imperial Valley campus will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026. Commencement ceremonies for the San Diego campus will take place from Friday, May 15, 2026, through Sunday, May 17, 2026.
11. Final grades are due from instructors on Thursday, May 21, 2026, by 11:00 p.m.
12. The Spring 2026 semester officially ends on Thursday, May 21, 2026.
