The UQ Academic Calendar 2026‑2027 schedule contains all the important dates and deadlines you need to succeed at the University of Queensland, from enrolment and fee payment due dates to course add/drop deadlines and timetable pick‑up windows.

The University of Queensland follows a two‑semester structure:

  • Semester 1: Late February to late May, followed by a mid‑semester break and exams in June.
  • Semester 2: Late July to late October, with a short break and exams in early November.

Each main semester delivers about 13 weeks of teaching (about three months of classes), culminating in dedicated examination periods.

Additionally, UQ offers an optional Summer Semester (often called Semester 3) from mid-November to early February, featuring intensive and accelerated study options for added flexibility.

All key events from when you can pick your timetable in UQ (usually during Orientation Week) to UQ enrolment deadlines, UQ registration deadlines, and course change cut‑offs are clearly listed in the academic calendar.

The calendar helps you plan around academic policies and costs. It flags the academic penalty for UQ (penalties apply if assignments or exams are submitted late without an approved extension) and reminds you of the minimum GPA for UQ progression.  

UQ Academic Calendar Summer Semester 2026-2027

  1. Enrolments for the Summer Semester (2026–2027) open on Monday, June 1, 2026.
  2. My Timetable course timetables become available on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 (provisional).
  3. My Timetable opens for preferencing on Monday, October 26, 2026, at 12:00 pm (provisional).
  4. Applications for cross-institutional and non-award study in the Summer Semester are due on Saturday, October 31, 2026.
  5. My Timetable preferencing closes on Monday, November 9, 2026, at 9:00 am (provisional).
  6. The due date to enrol is Friday, November 13, 2026.
  7. My Timetable is closed on Monday, November 16, 2026, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm (provisional).
  8. My Timetable personal timetable is released on Monday, November 16, 2026, at 12:00 pm, and allocation adjustment opens (provisional).
  9. Summer Semester classes begin on Monday, November 30, 2026.
  10. The due date for payment of Summer Semester fees is Friday, December 11, 2026.
  11. The last date to add courses or alter enrolment is Sunday, December 13, 2026.
  12. The census date is Friday, December 18, 2026, which is the last date to withdraw without financial liability.
  13. My Timetable allocation adjustment finishes on Monday, December 21, 2026, at 9:00 am (provisional).
  14. The last day of classes before the in-semester break is Thursday, December 24, 2026.
  15. Christmas Eve begins on Thursday, December 24, 2026, at 6:00 pm.

  23. The revision period takes place from Monday, February 1, 2027, to Friday, February 5, 2027.
  24. The last date to withdraw from courses in mySI-net is Friday, February 5, 2027, with academic penalty and financial liability applying.
  25. The examination period takes place from Saturday, February 6, 2027, to Saturday, February 13, 2027.
  26. The Summer Semester ends on Saturday, February 13, 2027.
  27. Finalisation of grades occurs on Wednesday, February 24, 2027.

  4. The progression improvement plan is due on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, for students who received a progression intervention notice in a previous semester and wish to resume their studies.
  5. The due date to apply for cross-institutional and non-award study in Semester 2 is Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
  6. The first date to request a program change through mySI-net is Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
  7. NAIDOC Week takes place from Sunday, July 5, 2026, to Sunday, July 12, 2026.
