The University of Delaware academic calendar 2026-2027 includes essential dates such as the first day of classes, semester start and end dates, add/drop deadlines, exam periods, holidays, winter break, spring break, and the University of Delaware graduation schedule for 2026.

Unlike universities that follow trimester or quarter systems, UDel operates primarily on a semester-based academic calendar, with fall and spring semesters along with summer sessions.

UDEL Academic Calendar Fall 2026

  1. Registration for the Fall 2026 semester begins on Monday, April 13, 2026.
  2. Academic Orientations take place on Monday, August 24, 2026.
  3. The last day to apply for readmission for the Fall 2026 semester is Monday, August 24, 2026.
  4. UDEL Fall 2026 classes for Full-semester and Session A start at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. It is the first day of classes.
  5. The last day to add or drop Session A courses without additional signatures is Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
  6. Labor Day is observed on Monday, September 7, 2026. University offices are closed, and classes are suspended.
  7. The last day to add or drop full-semester courses without additional signatures is Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
  8. The last day to change registration or withdraw from Session A courses is Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
  9. The deadline for full-semester midterm grades to be posted in UDSIS is Friday, October 9, 2026.
  10. The last day of Session A classes is Friday, October 9, 2026.
  11. Session B classes begin at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, October 12, 2026.
  12. The deadline for Session A grades to be posted in UDSIS is Tuesday, October 13, 2026.
  13. Registration for the Winter 2027 term begins on Monday, October 19, 2026.
  14. The last day to add or drop Session B courses without additional signatures is Monday, October 19, 2026.
  15. Registration for the Spring 2027 semester begins on Monday, November 2, 2026.
  16. Election Day is observed on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Classes are suspended, and university offices are closed.
  17. The last day to change registration or withdraw from full-semester courses is Monday, November 9, 2026.
  18. The last day to change registration or withdraw from Session B courses is Wednesday, November 18, 2026.
  19. UDEL Thanksgiving break 2026 begins after the last class on Friday, November 20, 2026.
  20. Classes are suspended for Thanksgiving break from Monday, November 23, 2026, through Friday, November 27, 2026. University offices are closed for the Thanksgiving holiday from Thursday, November 26, 2026, through Friday, November 27, 2026. Classes resume following Thanksgiving break on Monday, November 30, 2026.
  21. The last day of Session B classes is Friday, December 4, 2026.
  22. The deadline for Session B grades to be posted in UDSIS is Tuesday, December 8, 2026.
  23. The last day of full-semester classes is Tuesday, December 8, 2026, and classes end at 10:00 p.m.
  24. Reading Day takes place on Wednesday, December 9, 2026. No examinations are scheduled.

  2. The last day to apply for readmission for the Winter 2027 term is Sunday, January 3, 2027.
  3. Winter 2027 classes begin at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, January 4, 2027.
  4. The first meal in the dining hall is served on Monday, January 4, 2027.
  5. The last day to add or drop courses without additional signatures is Thursday, January 7, 2027.
  6. The deadline to change a dining plan is Thursday, January 7, 2027.
  7. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is observed on Monday, January 18, 2027. Classes are suspended, and university offices are closed.
  8. The last day to change registration or withdraw from courses without academic penalty is Friday, January 29, 2027.
  9. The last day of Winter 2027 classes is Friday, February 5, 2027.
  10. Final examinations take place on Saturday, February 6, 2027.
  11. The last meal served in the dining halls is dinner on Saturday, February 6, 2027.
  12. The deadline for grades to be posted in UDSIS is Wednesday, February 10, 2027.

UDEL Academic Calendar Spring 2027

  1. Spring 2027 book orders are due from faculty to the UD Bookstore on Thursday, October 15, 2026.
  2. Registration for the Spring 2027 semester begins on Monday, November 2, 2026.
  3. The undergraduate tuition and fee payment deadline for Spring 2027 is Monday, January 4, 2027.
  4. Winter New Student Orientation takes place on dates to be announced in January and February 2027.
  5. The deadline for admission to doctoral candidacy for degrees conferred in Spring 2027 is Sunday, January 31, 2027.
  6. New Graduate Student Orientation takes place on Thursday, February 4, 2027.
  7. Winter International New Student Orientation takes place on Friday, February 5, 2027.
  8. The last day to apply for readmission for Spring 2027 is Sunday, February 7, 2027.
  9. The first meal served in the dining halls is brunch on Sunday, February 7, 2027.
  10. UDEL Spring 2027 classes begin at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, February 8, 2027.
  11. The graduate and PCS tuition and fee payment deadline for Spring 2027 is Monday, February 8, 2027. Classes are subject to cancellation after this date.
  12. The deadline to file an application for graduate degrees to be conferred in Spring 2027 is Monday, February 15, 2027.
  13. The last day to add or drop courses is Friday, February 19, 2027. After this date, no tuition is rebated, a $25 processing fee is charged for registration changes, and students withdrawing from courses receive a grade of “W” on their permanent record.
  14. The last day to apply for a personal or educational leave of absence for Spring 2027 is Friday, February 19, 2027.
  15. The deadline to change a dining plan is Friday, February 19, 2027.

Classes resume after the Spring Break Schedule 2027 at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, April 5, 2027.
  21. The deadline for graduate students to complete deferred examinations and incomplete coursework (grade I) from the Fall 2026 semester and Winter Term 2027 is Monday, March 29, 2027.
  22. Registration for Summer Term 2027 begins on Monday, April 5, 2027.

  27. The deadline for admission to doctoral candidacy for degrees to be conferred in Summer Term 2027 is Friday, April 30, 2027.
  28. The last day to change registration or withdraw from Spring 2027 courses is Monday, May 3, 2027.
  29. The last day of Spring 2027 classes is Thursday, May 20, 2027, and classes end at 10:00 p.m.
  30. The last day to apply for a medical leave of absence for Spring 2027 is Thursday, May 20, 2027.
