The University of Toronto operates across multiple campuses (St. George, Mississauga (UTM), and Scarborough (UTSC)), and while the overarching academic structure is similar, specific sessional dates can vary slightly by faculty or campus.

The University of Toronto’s primary academic year (Fall/Winter session) generally comprises 24 weeks of instruction, delivered across two distinct 12-week semesters or terms: Fall (September to December) and Winter (January to April).

Additionally, the university offers a flexible Summer session, which typically includes two shorter terms for accelerated study.

  1. The Fall and Winter course enrolment start times for Arts & Science students (all years) are available on ACORN on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
  2. The course enrolment priority period for Faculty of Arts & Science students runs from Monday, July 6, 2026, through Wednesday, July 22, 2026.
  3. The first day of Fall and Winter course enrolment for fourth-year students (14.0+ credits) is Monday, July 6, 2026.
  4. The first day of Fall and Winter course enrolment for third-year students (9.0–13.5 credits) is Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
  5. The first day of Fall and Winter course enrolment for second-year students (4.0–8.5 credits) is Monday, July 13, 2026.
  6. The first day of Fall and Winter course enrolment for first-year students (fewer than 4.0 credits) is Thursday, July 16, 2026.
  7. The first non-enrolment day (no ACORN course changes allowed) is Thursday, July 23, 2026.
  8. The general enrolment period for Faculty of Arts & Science students begins on Friday, July 24, 2026.
  9. The second non-enrolment day (no ACORN course changes allowed) is Tuesday, July 28, 2026.
  10. The first day of course enrolment for St. George campus students not in the Faculty of Arts & Science is Wednesday, July 29, 2026.
  11. The first day of course enrolment for non-degree Arts & Science students is Wednesday, July 29, 2026.
  12. The third non-enrolment day (no ACORN course changes allowed) is Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
  13. Course enrolment for other campuses opens at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, allowing cross-campus course enrolment.
  14. The tuition fee payment/deferral deadline for the Fall/Winter session is Tuesday, August 11, 2026.
  15. Labour Day is Monday, September 7, 2026, and the University is closed.
  16. The last day to request Fall 2026 graduation on ACORN is Tuesday, September 3, 2026.
  17. The first day to request Spring 2027 graduation on ACORN is to be determined.
  18. Classes for Fall (F) and Fall-Winter (Y) courses begin on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
  19. The final deadline to submit an application for re-registration at the start of the Fall/Winter or Summer session is Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
  20. Waitlists for Fall (F) and Fall-Winter (Y) courses close at the end of the day on Thursday, September 17, 2026.
  21. The last day to enrol in Fall (F) and Fall-Winter (Y) courses is Monday, September 21, 2026.
  22. The deadline to check ACORN for second-round program invitations and accept offers is Monday, September 21, 2026.
  23. The program/course fee freeze date for Fall (F) and Fall-Winter (Y) courses is Monday, September 21, 2026.
  24. The first day to select a Credit/No-Credit (CR/NCR) option for Fall (F) and Fall-Winter (Y) courses is Tuesday, September 22, 2026.
  25. The deadline to pay fees for special deferred exams scheduled during Fall Reading Week is Monday, October 5, 2026.
  26. Thanksgiving is Monday, October 12, 2026, and the University is closed.

  28. Fall Reading Week runs from Monday, October 26, 2026, through Friday, October 30, 2026, and there are no classes.
  29. The special deferred exam period for students who paid the required fee runs from Monday, October 26, 2026, through Friday, October 30, 2026.
  30. The deadline to report a conflict for the December 2026 final exam period is Friday, November 13, 2026.
  31. The last day to drop Fall (F) courses without academic penalty is Tuesday, November 17, 2026.
  32. The last day of regularly scheduled classes for Fall (F) and Fall-Winter (Y) courses is Monday, December 7, 2026.
  33. The official last day of classes is Tuesday, December 8, 2026, including makeup classes for Thanksgiving.
  34. The last day to add or remove a CR/NCR option in Fall (F) courses is Tuesday, December 8, 2026.
  35. The deadline to request Late Withdrawal (LWD) from Fall (F) courses is Tuesday, December 8, 2026.
  36. Study Day is Wednesday, December 9, 2026.

Manage UofT important dates for the Winter 2027 term: S-course deadlines, reading week 2026, final exams, and critical withdrawal dates.

  1. The Presidential Days occur from Monday, January 4, 2027, through Tuesday, January 5, 2027, and the University is closed.
  2. Classes in Winter (S) courses begin, and Fall-Winter (Y) courses resume on Monday, January 11, 2027.
  3. The final deadline to submit an application for re-registration to begin studies in the Winter term or in the second term of the Summer session is Monday, January 11, 2027.
  4. The waitlists for Winter (S) courses close at the end of the day on Wednesday, January 20, 2027.
  5. The last day to enrol in Winter (S) courses is Sunday, January 24, 2027.
  6. The program/course fee freeze date for Winter (S) courses is Sunday, January 24, 2027; any Winter courses dropped after this date are still counted for tuition assessment.
  7. The first day to select a Credit/No-Credit (CR/NCR) option for Winter (S) courses is Monday, January 25, 2027.
